Prominent Cosmetic Dermatologist and Author Joins MySkinCareConnection.com
The HealthCentral Network, Inc. New business spotlight on Desiree Itsell, Arbonne consultant
Pure. Safe. Beneficial. Those three words are what Arbonne Swiss skin care products are all about. And Desiree Itsell, an independent consultant for the Arbonne company, is excited to sell the products with her team of four people. “Our products don't have things like animal byproducts, minerals, chemical perfumes and dyes," Itsell said. The products are also all manufactured in the U.S., she said. The company offers different products for women, teens, men and even babies. Itsell said the products are especially good for people with sensitive skin. Arbonne has products that appeal to everyone, Itsell said. “Arbonne's tagline is from the cradle to the rocker," Itsell said. There is a teen line called f.y.i., for young individuals, anti-aging products, acne products and weight loss and nutrition products.

Can A Low GI Diet Cure Your Acne?
If you have acne, you likely have heard a myriad of tales, ideas and theories of acne causes, but the end result is confusion. One recent study, however, sheds light on at least one acne topic – A Melbourne University in Australia (RMIT) recently determined that a high protein and low GI diet can dramatically decrease acne in the teenage boys it studied. The study seems to buck the commonly held notion that diet and acne are not related. Contrary to popular belief, experts have said often over the years, chocolate does not cause acne. But this study seems to prove that indeed, the quality of a diet and health of the skin are interconnected. .
Hi-Tech Beauty-Buster Fixers
Whether your problem is thinning hair or acne, there are a few hot, new products on that claim to take away everything from wrinkles to too much hair. The products use some of the same technologies that a dermatologist may have used on you -- lasers, LED lights, and infrared light -- and you can use them all in your own home.
But do they work?
"These products provide at-home versions of procedures typically performed in a doctor's office: light treatments, laser hair removal, or chemical peels," says Linda Wells, editor in chief of Allure magazine.
"In terms of at-home treatments, this is just the beginning."
Wells and some Allure staffers visited The Early Show Wednesday and reported on the effectiveness of products the staffers tried for several weeks.
